Create or open a strategy in Upsell Strategies.
Normal strategies show content blocks with eligible product offers by default.
Keep required checkout information outside layout-specific content blocks.
Content blocks currently appear only for customers using your store's primary language.

Most templates have a focused how-to guide in the Campaigns & Content Blocks collection. Use this guide for Purchase reassurance and the shared content-block workflow.
Open Upsell Strategies.
Select Content blocks.
Select Create content block.
Choose a template, add a clear internal Name, and customise its content.
Set Status to Active, Draft, or Archived.
Set Display on to All Devices, Mobile, or Desktop.
Select Create.
Display on follows the width available to the app block. It does not identify the customer's physical device. Browser zoom or checkout placement can change the available width.
Open an upsell strategy.
Under Offer layout, select Add content block.
Create a block or choose an existing block.
Drag the block before or after product offers, or into a product-selection modal. You can also focus the drag handle and use the keyboard.
Save the strategy. Adding a block from this screen is not complete until the strategy is saved.
Check the strategy preview and the relevant checkout-editor preview.
The same block can be reused in multiple strategies. Editing a shared block updates every strategy that uses it. Duplicating a strategy creates independent copies of its content blocks by default, so editing the duplicate does not update the original strategy's blocks.
Normal strategies show content blocks with eligible product offers. For supported offer-list blocks, enable If there are no products, continue to show the content block when the content should remain visible after the product modules return no eligible products.
This option does not turn the strategy into an independent rule. Placement, market, audience, status, and other strategy eligibility checks still apply.
When an app block should request a specific content-only strategy:
Build the strategy and add the required content blocks under Offer layout.
Open Advanced.
Enable Only show this strategy when an app block requests it by ID.
Save the strategy.
Open Shopify's checkout editor and select the Order Editing app block.
Under Locked Strategy, select the strategy.
Save the checkout configuration.
A locked strategy is excluded from normal strategy matching and appears only when the app block requests its ID.
New blocks start as Active. Choose Draft before creating a block when it should remain visible only in the editor and previews.
Changing a shared block to Draft hides it from every linked strategy after you save. Remove a block from every linked strategy before archiving or deleting it.
Choose images from Shopify Files. Order Editing saves the original dimensions and Shopify CDN variants for small, medium, and large layouts.
Enter meaningful alt text when an image communicates information. Select This image is decorative only when the image adds no information.
Open the strategy preview.
Confirm the block appears in the intended position.
Switch between narrow and wide layouts and confirm its visibility.
Open the checkout editor for the target extension surface.
Confirm Draft blocks are absent from the customer preview and Active blocks use the expected image and layout.
