Shopify Plus is required to add checkout app blocks.
Confirm you can edit and save the published Shopify checkout profile.
Decide whether customers may edit draft-order checkouts or free items.
Review product, tag, bundle, discount, market, and inventory restrictions.
Checkout Line Item Editing is not an upsell strategy. It is a pair of Shopify checkout extensions that lets customers edit eligible cart lines and optionally remove products accepted from an Order Editing checkout upsell.
With Edit Line Item, eligible customers can open the item editor to change quantity, select another variant, replace the product, or remove the item by reducing its quantity to zero.
With Remove Upsell Product, customers can remove an eligible product that was added through an Order Editing checkout upsell.
Shopify recalculates the checkout after the cart line changes.
In Shopify admin, open Settings > Checkout.
Select Customize for the published checkout profile.
Confirm you are editing the Checkout page.
Select Add app block in the cart-line area supported by Shopify.
Add Edit Line Item from Order Editing.
Select the block and review its settings.
Select Save.

Developer logging, feature flags, and endpoint controls are for testing or support-led investigation. Do not change them as routine merchant configuration.
In the same Checkout page, select Add app block in the Order Summary cart-line area.
Add Remove Upsell Product from Order Editing.
Review the language preview if needed.
Select Save.
The removal action appears only for supported products added through an Order Editing checkout upsell. It is not a general remove link for every product the customer put in the cart.
Not every cart line can be edited in every way. Eligibility can be affected by:
the block settings above;
product and market availability;
inventory;
custom discounts or allocations;
bundle structure;
free or digital product status;
product-title or product-tag restrictions;
Shopify checkout behaviour.
Test bundle and heavily discounted items with the apps that created them. Protecting the source data is more important than exposing every edit action.
Add an ordinary physical product to the cart and continue to Shopify Plus checkout.
Use Edit item to change its quantity.
Change to another available variant.
Replace it with another eligible product.
Remove it by setting the quantity to zero.
Confirm totals, discounts, shipping, and taxes recalculate.
Add a product through a Product List Upsell.
Use the removal action supplied by Remove Upsell Product.
Repeat with a free item, digital item, restricted product, bundle, and draft checkout according to your settings.
You do not need to place an order. These extensions change checkout lines before payment, so the checkout itself shows the line updates and recalculated totals.
Confirm Edit Line Item is installed and saved, and that Shopify reports the line as eligible for an update. The current extension renders the edit action only for shippable merchandise.
Review free-item, digital-item, tag, title, bundle, discount, inventory, and market restrictions. A protected line may offer fewer actions.
Confirm the replacement product and variant are active, available in the customer's market, and in stock. Then review discounts and bundle constraints.
Confirm its block is installed and saved. Then confirm the line was added through the supported Order Editing checkout upsell flow.
