Before you begin
Shopify Plus is required for checkout app blocks and One-Click Upsell on production stores.
You need permission to edit and save the relevant Shopify checkout profile.
Create the strategy before testing its placement.
Checkout Page extensions
In Apps > Order Editing > Upsells, open the setup action for the placement. In Shopify's Checkout Editor, add and save the matching block:

You can also add Remove Product Upsells to the order summary when customers should be able to remove an accepted Product List offer there. Checkbox Upsell already lets customers tick to add and untick to remove its product.
One-Click Upsell
Open Shopify's checkout settings and select Order Editing as the post-purchase app. Only one app can own Shopify's post-purchase page. Save the setting, then return to Order Editing and check the placement status.
Thank You and Order Status extensions
Use Shopify's Checkout Editor to add the main Order Editing block for product carousels. Standalone Product List Upsell and Featured Product Upsell placements need their own matching app blocks.
Lock a strategy to one block
Open the strategy.
Enable Only show this strategy when an app block requests it by ID.
Copy the strategy ID.
Open the intended app block in Shopify's Checkout Editor.
Paste the ID into Locked Strategy and save.
The locked strategy is excluded from normal matching and appears only when a supported block requests that ID.
Verify installation
Return to Order Editing and confirm the placement shows as installed. Use Shopify's Checkout Editor to verify block position and layout. For Checkout Page behaviour, add a product to the cart and continue to checkout without placing an order.
