How to group upsell strategies into a campaign

Group related upsell strategies, review shared schedules, and find them from one campaign tab.

Before you begin

  • You need at least one upsell strategy in Order Editing.

  • Use a campaign for strategies that belong to the same promotion, launch, or reporting group.

Link a strategy to a campaign

  1. Open Upsell Strategies and edit a strategy.

  2. Open the Campaign section.

  3. Use the Link tab to search for and select an existing campaign.

  4. Save the strategy.

To create a campaign from the same section, open the New tab, enter a name your team will recognise, create it, and save the strategy.

Strategies in a campaign appear in All and on the campaign's own tab in the Upsell Strategies list. They do not also appear in the Active or Draft tabs.

Review a linked campaign

Select the linked campaign in the strategy editor to open its details. The campaign details show:

  • the strategies in the campaign;

  • each strategy's status and schedule;

  • content blocks shared across campaign strategies; and

  • the option to disconnect the current strategy.

Disconnecting a strategy removes its campaign membership. It does not delete the strategy.

Keep schedules aligned

When strategies in the same campaign use different schedules, Order Editing shows a schedule mismatch warning on the campaign tab and in the campaign details.

Review the start and end times for every strategy. Align them when the campaign should behave as one timed promotion, or leave them different only when the staggered timing is intentional.

Add content blocks to campaign strategies

Campaign membership does not automatically add customer-facing creative. Add reusable content blocks to each strategy under Offer layout when the promotion needs banners, reviews, FAQs, or reassurance content.

Normal strategies show Active content blocks with eligible product offers. For a content-block-only experience, lock the strategy with Only show this strategy when an app block requests it by ID, then select that strategy in the checkout editor's Locked Strategy setting.

Check the campaign

  1. Open the campaign tab and confirm every intended strategy appears.

  2. Resolve any unexpected schedule mismatch warning.

  3. Preview each strategy to confirm its products, content blocks, and design.

  4. Use the relevant Shopify checkout-editor preview for Thank You or Order Status placements.
