Change Products lets customers correct or replace items that are already in an order. You can allow changes between variants of the same product, such as size or colour, and optionally allow a switch to a completely different product.
Open App Settings, select Editing blocks, then open Change Products.
Review these connected settings before enabling the block:
Order Downgrades controls changes that reduce the order value and require a refund.
Hidden Products can remove products from customer selectors.
Inventory Management controls inventory availability and location behaviour.
Bundle settings can limit whether bundle line items may be changed.
Turn on Allow customers to switch product options to let customers change options such as size or colour.
Select Save Changes.
A customer can then choose another available variant of the same product. If the replacement costs more, the customer must pay the difference. If it costs less, the change also depends on your Order Downgrades setting.
When Order Downgrades is off, a same-price option change can still be available. A cheaper option cannot be completed because it needs a partial refund.
Turn on Also allow switching to a different product when customers may replace the original line item with another product.
This creates a broader choice than a variant-only change, so test the products that appear in the selector. Product availability can be affected by market, inventory, restrictions, and hidden-product settings.
Expand Advanced, then turn on Show a dynamic preview of available options if you want the customer-facing prompt to reflect the options available on the product.
For example, the editing experience can refer to size or colour instead of showing only a generic product-change prompt.
If your store uses bundle products, review Bundle Integrations and Bundle editing preference.

Integration cards can appear for supported bundle apps, including Roadmap Bundles, Shopify Bundles, and Simple Bundles. Use the option that matches how the bundle app expects component items to be handled.
Test bundle edits in Shopify and in the connected bundle or fulfilment system. A visually correct customer change is not enough if the downstream bundle data becomes invalid.
Use the page's translation action to customise the labels shown when customers select and confirm a replacement. Add translations for every storefront language you support. You can manage broader language settings under App Settings > Global settings > Localizations.
Save the settings.
Open an existing eligible order containing a product with at least two available variants.
Confirm the order is still inside its editing window.
Test a same-price variant change.
Test a higher-priced change and complete the additional payment.
If Order Downgrades is enabled, test a lower-priced change and confirm the expected refund method.
If product switching is enabled, replace the item with a different product.
Confirm the final line item, price, inventory, taxes, discounts, and fulfilment data in Shopify.
Use the same order to check a sold-out, hidden, or restricted product where possible. Refresh the customer page after changing a product or setting.
An option change keeps the same product and selects another variant. A product switch replaces it with another product.
A more expensive change collects an additional payment. A cheaper change needs a partial refund, so it requires Order Downgrades to allow that outcome.
Confirm the correct bundle integration is connected, review the bundle editing preference, and test how the bundle app represents its component items in Shopify.
