Order Editing is billed through Shopify, with pricing based on your store's order volume.
Every subscription includes the core Order Editing product: self-service order edits, editing rules, order holds, app blocks, upsells, integrations, analytics, and onboarding support.
Address Validation is billed separately as usage-based billing, so you only pay for paid address verifications when you choose to use them.
Your trial starts when you install Order Editing and approve Shopify billing. The length of the trial depends on your store's order volume bracket.
Monthly orders | Free trial |
0-1,500 monthly orders | 7 days |
1,500-5,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
5,000-10,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
10,000-20,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
Over 20,000 monthly orders | 14 days, contact sales |
Use the trial to install the app, configure your editing rules, test your app blocks, and confirm edited orders behave correctly before you go live.
Your monthly subscription is based on how many orders your store processes each month.
Monthly orders | Monthly price | Free trial |
0-1,500 monthly orders | $99 | 7 days |
1,500-5,000 monthly orders | $199 | 14 days |
5,000-10,000 monthly orders | $399 | 14 days |
10,000-20,000 monthly orders | $599 | 14 days |
Over 20,000 monthly orders | Contact sales | 14 days |
Your recommended bracket is based on your trailing 365-day order volume. You can see your current usage and recommended bracket from the App Pricing page in Order Editing.
ℹ️ Note: Order Editing does not take a percentage of edited order value, recovered revenue, or customer changes.
Your subscription includes the core Order Editing product. These are the tools that let customers make safe post-purchase changes while your team stays in control of fulfilment.
Self-service order editing: Let customers update eligible order details after checkout.
Editing rules: Decide which orders can be edited, which actions are available, and when editing closes.
Order holds: Hold eligible orders while the editing window is open, then release them when they're ready for fulfilment.
App blocks: Add Order Editing to the customer-facing places where buyers manage their orders.
Upsells: Offer relevant products after checkout, on the Thank You Page, and on the Order Status Page. Checkout Page upsells require Shopify Plus.
Integrations: Connect Order Editing with fulfilment, shipping, subscription, marketing, support, and operations tools.
Analytics: Track edited orders, customer behaviour, upsell performance, and the operational impact of self-service editing.
The goal is simple: customers can fix common order issues themselves, while your warehouse, support team, and downstream systems still receive the right final order.
🔒 Shopify Plus: Checkout extensions require Shopify Plus. This includes checkout line item editing and Checkout Page upsells. Post-purchase order editing, Thank You Page upsells, and Order Status Page upsells work outside checkout.
Address Validation is billed separately from your monthly subscription. You only pay when Order Editing runs a paid address verification.
A validation means one paid verifier check on a customer's shipping address. The verifier checks the address against postal data to confirm whether it's real, correctly formatted, and likely to be deliverable.
There are two parts to Address Validation:
Validation rules: Free rules that check an address against conditions you define, such as blocked regions or missing details.
Verifiers: Paid address checks that verify whether an address is real, formatted correctly, and likely to be deliverable.
Verifier pricing depends on the destination country. Each paid verification is charged at the regional rate below.
Region | Price per validation |
United States | $0.01 |
Australia | $0.015 |
United Kingdom | $0.03 |
New Zealand | $0.03 |
Rest of World | $0.05 |
You control Address Validation spend with a monthly usage cap. The cap is the maximum amount you want to spend on paid verifications in a billing period. When the cap is reached, paid verifications pause automatically, but checkout and post-purchase order editing continue to work normally. You can increase the cap anytime to resume verification.
You can also control how often verification runs:
Choose where validation runs: Run verification at checkout, post-purchase, or both. Checkout validation requires Shopify Plus. Post-purchase validation works on the Thank You Page and Order Status Page.
Limit validations in one checkout: Set Max API calls per checkout to limit how many times an address can be verified if a customer edits it repeatedly. The minimum is 3, and the default is 5.
Use smart caching: If the same address is entered again in the same checkout session, Order Editing uses the previous result instead of charging again.
Add verification conditions: Choose when verification should run. For example, verify only international orders, orders above a certain value, or first-time customers.
Use free validation rules first: Rules can catch common issues before a paid verifier runs, which helps reduce unnecessary paid checks.
Address Validation charges are handled through Shopify billing. You can review usage, adjust your monthly cap, and change verifier settings from the Address Validation area in Order Editing.
Order Editing touches more than one part of your store. It can affect customer accounts, order holds, payment capture, fulfilment timing, Shopify Flow, and third-party tools. That's why onboarding matters.
Our team helps you configure Order Editing around the way your business actually ships orders. We don't expect you to guess the safest setup on your own.
White glove onboarding can include:
Reviewing your fulfilment workflow and order release process
Setting up editing rules for your products, shipping methods, and order types
Checking order holds, payment capture, and fulfilment timing
Helping place and test Order Editing app blocks
Testing edited orders before launch
Reviewing integration behaviour with tools like 3PLs, WMS, ERP, subscription apps, and Shopify Flow
Recommending support workflows and customer messaging
💡 Tip: If your fulfilment setup is complex, contact Order Editing support before you go live. A short setup review can prevent edited orders from reaching your warehouse too early.
